A loan of $2,025 helped a member to buy wool.

Juan Xxi Group's story

The “Amigas por siempre” (Friends Forever) Community Bank is in its third loan cycle with Pro Mujer, as part of the Central Andean Region. This group has been together for a year, and they know each other as friends and loan partners. The group is comprised of ten members who work in various businesses, such as blanket weaving, broasted chicken sales, vegetables, knitting sweaters, selling lace, hairstyling, macramé, selling pork, knitting with wool, and selling cheese and potatoes.

Mrs. Elsa is the president of the community bank. She is a young woman, 23 years old, and is currently awaiting the arrival of her first baby. She shares she has been part of this community bank since it began. Mrs. Elsa works knitting alpaca wool by machine to make different types of clothing, ponchos, sweaters, and more. Her first loan of 1,000 bolivianos was used to buy wool. The current loan for this cycle is for 2,000 bolivianos to be used for the same purpose.

Her favorite part of working with Pro Mujer is that she likes sharing with her loan partners.

In this group: Elsa, Maria, Elisa Primitiva, Lidia, Bertha, Olga, Simona, Isabel, Silveria, Yola
