Aun's story

Mrs. Aun K. married in 1985 and has four children, two sons and two daughters. She learned to weave silk from a friend in Koh Dach commune in Kandal province back when she was single. She started her silk production in 1983, two years before she got married. She finished the primary school in Prek Ampil village. Her husband is a construction worker, also doing farming and raising animals.

Mrs. Aun K. has borrowed money from MAXIMA four times already. Now she is asking for a loan in the amount of US$ 500. She will use this loan to purchase silk materials and sewing thread and pay fees for selecting and preparing silk on the loom. Also, she will use some borrowed money so her husband can grow rice in the dry season.
