The “Amigas por siempre” (Friends for Life) community bank is beginning its 11th loan cycle with Pro Mujer as part of the Los Andes regional office. It is a group which has been together for quite a long time. The group has nine female members. Their businesses include: shoe sales, traditional knitting, clothes sales, egg store, potato flour sales, blanket knitting, clothes sales, purse and footwear sales and 'Cochabambina' skirt sales.

The community bank president, Aurelia, is married and has three children. She comments that she has been working with Pro Mujer for nearly six years. Aurelia's business is making and selling 'Cochabambina' skirts (knee-length pleated skirts). She started this business thanks to the support of one of her relatives 10 years ago. Now she produces her skirts independently. Her first loan was for $100 USD which she invested in buying fabric and thread. Her current loan request is for 3,500 bolivianos, a sum of money which will be added to the savings withdrawal which she has made to buy fabric. When asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she commented that she likes the training and the health services. She has visited the health clinic and was well looked after.

La B.C. “Amigas por siempre” inicia su ciclo Nº11 en Pro Mujer, como parte del Centro Focal de Los Andes, es un grupo que ha compartido bastante tiempo juntas. Está compuesta por nueve integrantes mujeres. Los negocios que desempeñan son: comercio de zapatos, tejido artesanal, venta de ropa, tienda de huevos, venta de chuño, tejido de mantas, venta de mercadería de ropa venta de carteras y calzados, mercadería de ropa, confección de polleras cochabambinas,

La señora presidenta de la banca comunal, señora Aurelia está casada, es madre de tres hijos, comenta que trabaja en Pro Mujer cerca de seis años. La señora Aurelia tiene como negocio elaboración y venta de confección de polleras cochabambinas (polleras plisadas, hasta la rodilla), inició este negoció gracias al apoyo de unos parientes hace 10 años, ahora produce independientemente. Su primer préstamo fue por $us100.- y fue invertido en la compra de tela e hilo, actualmente su solicitud fue de Bs.3500.-, monto de dinero que será sumado al retiro de ahorro que hizo para la compra de Telas.
Cuando se le consultó que le gusta de Pro Mujer, ella comenta que le gusta capacitación, salud, ha visitado el consultorio y ha sido bien atendida.
