A loan of $1,075 helped tO BUY SACKS OF MANURE TO IMPROVE HIS POTATO PRODUCTION.

Melver's story

Melver, at 19 years of age, is a young man with many ambitions. He lives in the capital of the country where he studied to be accepted in the university. But on weekends, he visits his parents who reside in the rural zone of Tapo (in Peru's mountains). At his young age he helps his parents and invests in his future.

Some years ago, his parents instilled in him the confidence to be able to cultivate lands he received as an inheritance. Since then, he has sown potatoes in large quantities, with the help of day laborers and the advice of his father, thus acquiring a small amount of capital.

But since Melver's aspirations are to study agro-industrial engineering in the capital, he decided to study hard in order to be accepted in the university, while not neglecting his farm. Now, he not only sells in the local central market, but also in the main market of the capital, where he discovered that he could obtain larger earnings. Now Melver is entirely dedicated to reaching his objectives and paying back the assistance offered by his family.

This is his 3rd loan with MFP and he appreciates the help of his communal bank in these moments of achieving and constructing his objectives. With the loan Melver will obtain, he can buy manure to increase production of the potatoes that he will harvest within a few months.
