A loan of $175 helped to purchase animal feeds, fertilizer, and seedlings.

Peter Ng'ang'a's story

Peter is a 46-year-old farmer. He is married to Florence, who is also a farmer. They have three children. Peter has owned his farming business for the past three years. He has a dairy operation and grows crops. His monthly income is 13,000 KES, which he uses to support his family.

Peter has never borrowed from a MFI (microfinance institution) before. He was introduced to KADET LTD by a Kadet credit officer. He has applied for his first loan from KADET, which he plans to use to purchase animal feeds (i.e., dairy meal, maize jam, and Macklin salt), fertilizers, and seedlings. With the anticipated profit from the business he intends to expand the dairy operation and begin greenhouse farming.

He hopes to own a greenhouse in the near future, which will enable him to grow produce during all the seasons. With the profits, he will pay for his children's education.
