Pong V. is 28 years old and a resident of Phnom Penh City. He is married with one child who is attends public school. His wife works in a garment factory and has a monthly salary that is used to provide for the family’s needs.
Pong V. is currently working as a soldier. He is concerned that he is hardly working and his wife dreams of having a vehicle to go to work, but he doesn’t have the money to buy one. Therefore, Pong V. is requesting a loan to purchase a secondhand motorcycle to use to commute to work. The remainder of his loan will be used to repair his house.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
