Hun N., 40, is married and lives with her husband and three children in the Takeo province. She sells desserts in her village and is able to make about US$8 per day. Her husband raises fish and grows rice. He has been doing this business since 1999, and is able to make about US$4 of profit every day. Three of the children are in school.
To earn more money, Hun N. is asking for a loan of USD1,000 to purchase a motorbike and a trailer for her husband to operate a moto-taxi. She believes the extra business will allow her family earns more income. Hun N. really wants all her children to attend the university if she can support them.
