A loan of $725 helped to buy a motorbike to provide a 'mototaxi' service.

Clara's story

Clara is 40 years old. She lives with her partner Isaías who is also 40. They both have 2 children, Isabel who is 10 and Angeli who is 3. They look after and educate their children in their own home which is in the town of Kivinaki. As husband and wife, Clara and Isaías share their household roles. Seven years ago, Clara acquired a small three-wheeled vehicle from which she sells food on Saturdays and Sundays. The other days of the week she prepares it for selling a variety of sweets since every morning the kids from the local school come to her and buy a variety of sweets of different brands and sizes. Meanwhile, her husband works building houses, which is very productive since there aren't many similar businesses in the area. Clara and her husband have both put together a quantity of savings with which they are planning to buy a motorbike.

This is Clara's third loan with MFP and, as a member of her community bank, she feels proud of the progress which she is constantly making. She will use her loan to complete her purchase of a motorbike which she plans to use to provide public transport services.
