A loan of $725 helped to buy cocoa beans, coffee, and sacks of fertilizer to improve her productivity.

Simona's story

Simona, age 42, is a very happy and hardworking woman. She lives in her own home with her 41 year-old husband and her five young children, to whom she desires to offer a better future. The cultivation of cocoa, coffee and coke leaves is the activity that Simona does daily. With much effort she has managed to make her lands be productive, which has made her crops be of good quality. They are well appreciated in the city of San Francisco, which is where she takes her products to be sold. What she likes the most about her work is caring for her crops and she does it with care. She has been doing this activity for five years. She thinks that the most difficult part of the job is transporting the products, since the sacks that she caries are very heavy and they make her very tired. In the future, she desires to have enough money to buy new lands and therefore increase her crops. This is the twelfth loan with MFP and she hopes to be punctual in her payments, since she doesn't want to cause problems for her communal bank, with which she feels very happy. With the 2,000 soles asked for, she will buy cocoa and coffee beans, and sacks of fertilizer, with which she hopes to improve her crops.
