A loan of $725 helped buy cocoa and coffee beans.

Marcelina's story

Marcelina, 37, is a cheerful, hardworking woman. She lives in her own home with her husband Dario who is 35 and her four little children, to whom she wants to provide a better quality of life. The hard work done by Marcelina and her husband on their farm have resulted in crops that very well looked after, and their products are quickly purchased on the day of sale.

Their main source of income is the sale of cocoa, coffee and coca leaves, which she sells in the city of San Francisco. What she likes most about her job is to harvest their land, as she feels that her work is bearing its fruit. She has spent 15 years doing this work and believes that the hardest thing is to protect their crops from pests that may affect them. Over time, she wants to acquire additional land to expand her crop farming activity.

This is her second loan with MFP. She has been very punctual in her payments and has had no problems with her community bank, where she can be relied on to add a share of joy to keep the other members happy and united. With the 2000 soles requested she will buy cocoa and coffee beans for planting this season.
