Mujeres Activas Group's story

The 'Comité Mujeres Activas' (Committee of Active Women) is an excellent committee which was established on 20th April 2010. It has 17 female members.

This group was formed when Mrs Miguela F., who was previously part of another group, approached the advisor in a loan renewal meeting in her district, to find out about the possibility of regrouping in the 'Comité de Mujeres Emprendedoras' (Committee of Enterprising Women) program.

The advisor's response was positive and Miguela was very enthusiastic and very keen to be able to work within the program. Her group now finds itself working very happily on its third loan cycle in the 'Comité de Mujeres Emprendedoras' program.

All the members of the group work in different business activities such as buying fruits and vegetables, buying ingredients to prepare food, buying notions, buying merchandise for a grocery store (sugar, rice, yerba, bakery products, dairy products, meat, etc.) and buying clothes to sell.

This is a very active group. All its members show team spirit and support each other. They attend the weekly meetings and carry out activities to collect funds for the common good of the group.

One of the group's members is Miguela F. who sells food which she makes herself. She sells her food from her home and makes a good income. She comments that this activity makes her good profits. She is requesting this loan to buy ingredients to make the food which she prepares, especially meat as the price of meat is very high right now.

In this group: Miguela , Diana, Clara, María, María, Graciela, Juliana, Dominga, Ramona, Reinalda, Antonia, Dominga, Elisa, Mirian, Marta, Carmen, Ceverina
