A loan of $3,650 helped a member to buy water troughs, balanced animal feed, etc.

Maria Auxiliadora Group's story

The María Auxiliadora Women's Committee was set up on the 3rd of August 2006 when the current managing director Mrs María Ana A., who has a business selling chickens, contacted the advisor in the regional office in Itá to find out how the Comité de Mujeres Emprendedoras (Committee of Enterprising Women) works.

Once she had been advised about how the program works, she got together 16 women who are now working very happily together on their 12th loan cycle as a united and supportive group within the program. Over the course of all these loan cycles they have faced a number of problems with some of their fellow members and had some difficulties meeting their repayments but, thanks to the new payment method which the program now offers, they have managed to overcome their difficulties and are showing an excellent repayment performance.

The members of the group are grateful for the support of the loans they have received from this program which have enabled them to succeed in each one of their business activities. They have showed once again that women are essential pillars within the family and that they can better themselves every day.

María is a very enterprising woman and she would like to continue raising and selling chickens. The work really suits her as it generates a good income and she obtains good profits weekly.

She is requesting this loan to buy, amongst other things, water troughs and balanced feed for her animals.
