Amigas Por Siempre Group
In this Group: Sisley, Carmen Rosa, Sofia Mayra, Nelly Corina, Hernestina, Isabel Carmen, Bibiana Noemi, Karen Alexandra
Nelly has worked in different trades for a long time. However, owing to the demands and effort which they required from her, she gave the jobs up in order to devote herself to her family. She wanted to work for herself in her spare time so that she didn't have to neglect her children. It was a good friend who taught her to sell various seasonal products. She began selling nougat (a very popular sweet in Peru which is in high demand in October). Her nougat sales went well. Her nougat was in high demand. Now she is getting ready for the upcoming season, selling panettones for Christmas. She would like to invest her loan in stocking up with this product as she knows that there will be a lot of demand. In the summer season she also wants to sell ice cream. Her mother-in-law has offered her a space so that she can begin this business. Nelly is happy because by working she can help her daughter who is studying at university. What makes her even happier is feeling useful at 49 years of age. Her work as secretary of her group also makes her feel satisfied.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
