Edulfa Floresmila's story

The “La Rosa de Guadalupe” communal bank meats every two weeks in the city of Charapoto. This area is known for its traditional culture and for its location, minutes from the provincial beaches of San Jacinto and San Clemente.

Here we find Edulfa. She is 53 years old and is in a live in relationship. Together she and her partner have had five children, who are all fully grown. Her partner runs a bar and grill.

She sells all types of clothing, door to door, and works on Thursdays, Fridays, and Saturdays from 7:00 AM to 5:00 PM. She makes most of her sales in rural areas, where she travels to offer her products and where she knows the people well. She sells on credit and customers pay her in thirds. At the end of every month, she brings new merchandise in from Guayaquil and Huaquillas.

She will use the money from this loan to buy more merchandise. She is a founding member of the communal bank, serves as the bank’s president, and likes the benefits that the bank offers.

She would like to have a car so that she can be more comfortable when making sales calls.
