Rosa Maria's story

Sra. Rosa Maria B. A., 34, lives in the San Ignacio area. She lives with her life partner and they have 2 young children, both in elementary school. Sra. Rosa and her partner have operated a farming busness for 9 years, during which they have faced down a volcano! They started the farm with help from her father and it is now the main source of income for the family. However, the gases from the volcano have damaged their fields and lowered their crop yields. Sra. Rosa is applying for a loan to buy fertilizers, pesticides and other supplies so that she can increase her output and, in turn, improve her family's quality of life. For the future, she wants to buy more land and increase the amount of crops she can grow. Her ultimate goal is to support her children's schooling.
