Martha De Jesus's story

Martha lives in Guatajiagua, in Morazán department. She is 49 years old and works making and selling clay 'comales' (dishes for cooking tortillas) and pots. She lives with her husband and her 4 children aged 28, 24, 19 and 14. The two youngest are still financially dependent on her. She has been in this business for 28 years. She works with her husband and with the help of her children. She works from 8.00am to 5.30pm. She learned the traD. from her mother.

She is requesting a loan to buy unfired earthenware and raw materials such as clay, firewood and nacazcol (a dye). The loan will be used to increase her business inventory and, consequently, her sales.

Martha's aspirations are to increase her business both in terms of sales as well as being able to offer a wiD. range of products. Her aspirations for her family are to support her children in their studies and on a personal level. She hopes that God grants her good health so that she doesn't suffer from any illnesses and thereby incur expenses. She also aims to pay her loan on time.
