A loan of $650 helped ingredients.

María's story

María is a part of the “Con Fuerza y Unión” [“With Strength and Unity”] communal bank in the city of Curicó. She has worked as a baker from her home for the past 7 years. Her main products are lemon pie, apple and banana cake, kneaded bread and Spanish tortillas, among others. She sells them by order. María also works as an educational assistant in a school.
She will buy ingredients with this loan. Her dream is to leave her job as an assistant to devote 100% of her time to baking, but she is holding off on this dream until her children, ages 24 and 17, finish college. The oldest studies architecture at the university. The youngest will also begin college once he finishes high school at 18.
María thanks Fondo Esperanza for trusting her by giving her loans. She is also very encouraged by the unity of her group.
Curicó is located in the Maule region, the central area of the country. The climate in Curicó is Mediterranean-like and is considered one of the most pleasant in Chile. Curicó is also characterized by its wine culture and the magical natural beauty of the surrounding area.
