A loan of $775 helped to buy Yanbal cosmetics and accessories. To open a business selling beverages.

Gina Aracely's story

In the town of La California de Portoviejo, capital of Manabí and known for many years as the city of the regal tamarind, the members of the Rio de Oro cooperative bank reunite every fifteen days.

For Gina, this is her third cycle with the cooperative bank, and what she likes the most is the responsible nature of the group, for which she serves as Secretary. She is 46 years old, in a common-law marriage, and has two children ages 16 and 13; her children are in school. Her husband works at a company.

She has a cyber-cafe business, where she offers telephonic and Internet services. In addition, she sells Yanbal products (beauty products, cosmetics, perfumes and women’s accessories). She works every day from 8 am until 11 pm, selling her products from her location since the customers always come there. She sells on credit, and goes out to collect payments on Sundays.

This loan is to grow her Yanbal sales business, and also to install a business selling beverages at her locale. Her dream is to buy a car.
