A loan of $625 helped to increase the merchandise in her business selling bedspreads, sheets, etc.

Teodora's story

Teodora is a member of the “Santiago Apóstol” community bank which is located in Paucarcolla district, in Puno province, in the department of Puno. She is 61 years old, married and has six children. She studied up to the third year of her secondary education.

Teodora tells us that she brings different merchandise from the department of Tacna to the city of Cusco, including sweatshirts and fleeces. She also brings bedspreads, sheets and many other things from Desaguadero to Cusco. She has been working with Movimiento Manuela Ramos for three years. Her first loan was for 500 nuevos soles and it allowed her to increase her business' merchandise.

She is now requesting a new loan for 1,700 nuevos soles which she will again use to increase her business' merchandise.

Her dream is to continue on with her business. What she most likes about her community bank is the months of grace which they offer on payments and the interest she makes on her savings.
