A loan of $350 helped to buy thread, fabric and a sewing machine to make clothes.

Rosa Lilian's story

Rosa owns her own sewing workshop. She lives with her 8 year-old daughter in El Transito, in San Miguel department. She is a single mother and her income is the only one which her family has. She learned her trade from a friend who does the same work. She does her sewing work from her home. She doesn't work fixed hours.

Currently she is requesting a loan because she would like to buy fabric, thread and a new sewing machine. She will use this loan to make this investment as she doesn't have the necessary finances to do it herself.

Her plans are to set up a bigger sewing workshop, serve lots of customers, to have employees to do the work and to look after the needs of her daughter, especially as regards her education and health.
