A loan of $900 helped to buy sacks of fertilizer.

Emiliana's story

Emiliana, age 48, is a very unassuming and hard-working woman. She lives in her own house with her 65 year old husband, Segundo, and their four beloved children. She wants to give the children a better quality of live.

Emiliana works together with her husband every day on their crops. Through much effort she has managed to make her land very productive, and she now plants everything. She knows that all of the products that she will get will be of good quality. She primarily grows cacao, coffee, and coca leafs. What she likes the most about her work is taking care of the plants so that they are not affected by pest infestations. That would reduce their earnings.

She has been doing this work for 20 years. She thinks that the most difficult part is transporting her crops to the city of San Francisco, which is where she sells her products. For the future of her business she hopes to get together the money needed to buy new land.

This is her second loan with MFP. She feels that this assistance will help her a great deal in developing her work. She is a very responsible member of her communal bank, and she is very proud of that. She will use the requested 2,500 soles to improve her crops. She will buy fertilizer to do so.
