A loan of $575 helped to buy building materials and build the walls of her house from concrete.

Sandra Johana's story

Sandra is the mother of three children. She is 31 years old and married. Her husband is a cook in a hotel.

Sandra's business is making 'nacatamales' (Nicaraguan 'tamales' - steamed corn dumplings with a savoury filling, wrapped in a plantain leaf). She sells these in her neighborhood. She works with her own money which her husband gave her. Sandra's is a family with few means of support. They still haven't managed to convert their house to concrete yet. This is her goal because as a mother she needs to look after her children's welfare.

Sandra would like to buy building materials such as stone, sand, cement and iron, and to begin building the front part of her house from concrete. She is happy because thanks to this loan from Afodenic she will be able to raise the walls of the house which for her is great progess.
