A loan of $725 helped purchase alpaca wool & metal used in producing her handmade jewelry.

Maritza's story

Maritza is 36 years old, married, and the mother of three children. She and her family live in their own home. After her aunt took a trip abroad, Maritza opened the doors of her business. Since then, she has sold handcrafted earrings and necklaces. At the end of each month, she waits to receive orders from her customers so that she will know to the exact kilo how much wool she needs to buy to make the earrings and necklaces. Maritza has been working in this business for two years. She chose to make jewelry as her line of work because she considers it to be peaceful and profitable. In the future, she plans to open a jewelry store and sell at the other markets and craft fairs.

This is her sixteenth loan with MFP. Maritza promises to continue submitting her payments in a prompt manner. She is one of most active and committed members at her Communal Bank meetings. The loan she is requesting will be used to buy the “Fantasia” brand of alpaca wool for making earrings, necklaces, and bracelets so that she can complete her outstanding orders.
