Malaneh Group's story

Meet members of the “Malaneh” group from Masorie village in northern Sierra Leone. They are all local entrepreneurs who have come to SMT, a partner of Kiva.org, to apply for a loan of SLL 700,000 for each. With the help of this loan they will be able to expand their businesses, make more sales and consequently improve their living conditions.

Sullay F. (pictured in the middle) is the leader of this group. The forty-nine-year-old is married to a farmer and they have eight children who are attending school. Sullay has been a farmer for more than thirty years now. He wants this loan in order to pay labor and buy seeds to plant in his farm.
