Guaranda, Ecuador / Agriculture

A loan of $1,200 helped to buy supplies for her corn, wheat, bean, and potato crops and to buy animals to fatten and later sell.

Maria Teresa's story

Maria Teresa C. A. is 33 years old. She is married, and she lives with her husband and their children in the Guaranda canton in the Bolívar province. She has four children.

Maria belongs to the Casaiche Chilipamba Communal Bank, which is half an hour from Guaranda. It is a group that works in agriculture and farming livestock such as dairy cows and pigs. The group has 20 members.

Maria grows corn, wheat, beans, and potatoes. She also raises dairy cows. She buys them in Guaranda, and she sells them in the wholesale market in the same city.

She is requesting the loan to buy supplies for her corn, wheat, bean, and potato crops. She also wants the loan to buy animals to fatten and later sell. The the loan will help her provide her family with the necessities.

Her dream is to buy a house and to educate her children.

She likes to listen to music.
