A loan helped to purchase more livestock.

Enhjargal's story

Enhjargal U. is 37 years old and lives with her husband and four children in Uvs province, Mongolia. They have been living in their own ger, a traditional Mongolian nomadic tent, and fence for the past 14 years. Three of her sons attend a local secondary school.

Enhjargal and her husband operate three kinds of businesses to make their living. She has been operating a meat trading business in her town, with the help of her husband, since 1995 and they have built a stable operation. She offers a variety of locally produced meats, those purchased from herders, to her customers by selling at the local market. In addition, they operate a vegetable and fruit planting business to supplement their family's income. They planted a variety of vegetables in a 0.5 hectare field and fruits, such as gooseberries and sea buckthorns, in their yard. They sell these products in the local community.

With profits from their fruit and vegetable trading business, she has been able to buy a new van (at 4,000,000 MNT) for her husband, who operates a transportation business. After years of successful businesses, her family's standard of living has been improving greatly year by year. They are both very hardworking people. She is requesting a 3,000,000 MNT loan to purchase more livestock to sell.
