A loan of $1,075 helped to buy rice, sugar, oil, produce, meat, etc.

Serafina's story

Serafina is a member of the Prosperidad (Prosperity) Communal Bank. She is 65 years old, a widow for the last 16 years, and mother of 7 children. She sells food in the Santa Clara Market, offering breakfast and lunch. She has been engaged in this business for 40 years. At present, her daughter (a single mother) helps her with serving customers.
Serafina requests a loan to purchase rice, sugar, oil, produce, meat, etc.
Serafina’s dream is to build a second floor to her house. She also thinks about opening a stand to sell cracklings in the same site. Serafina is very pleased with FINCA Peru’s methodology, and for this reason has been a member for over 15 years.
