A loan of $1,075 helped purchase organic fertilizers for his potato crop.

Raimundo's story

Raimundo is 53 years old and a hardworking gentleman who is married to Teresa, age 49. They have five children, but only the three youngest ones live with them since they still need to be cared for and educated. He has his own home in the rural area of Santa Clara. Raimundo still has great vitality despite his age. With thirty years of farming experience, he has demonstrated that the important things are to maintain conviction and optimism, work hard, and pursue your goals. Now he wants to buy a house in the city of Tarma. In order to do this, he saves much of his earnings from each potato harvest. Raimundo has more than five hectares of farmland on which he grows several varieties of potatoes. Each month he earns a large profit that he reinvests to achieve a larger harvest the following month. In his community, he is known as a large-scale farmer. However, his new goals are to start planting corn, peas, and ulluco (various agricultural products).

This is his ninth loan with MFP and he is proud to be the oldest member of his Communal Bank, where he has helped other people get ahead. With the loan he will receive, Raimundo will buy organic fertilizers to apply to his crop of potatoes of the “unique” variety, which will be harvested in a few months.
