Jane's story

Jane is a farmer in Kitale town in western Kenya where she has been farming for twenty years. Her mixed farm produces milk, maize, beans and vegetables which she sells locally. She depends on the income from her farm to cater for the needs of her family. Her biggest challenges have been price fluctuation and diseases which affect her production.

Jane is 43 years old. She is married with six children who all attend school.

Jane successfully repaid her fifth loan from Juhudi Kilimo and has requested this loan of 71,200 KES to purchase and insure a dairy cow and expand her poultry project. The extra income from these projects will enable her see her children through school and also provide some little luxury. In future, she would like to venture into zero-grazing farming so that her animals can be well taken care of and increase production.
