A loan of $500 helped a member to buy more pickle fish to enlarge her business activities.


Dy's Group's story

Six people are forming this group loan. They are located in Kbal Kaoh Thmei village, Kandal province. This group selected Mrs. Dy K. as the group leader. Each members of the group will use their portion of the loan to support their different purposes.

Mrs. Dy K. owns a small store in the local market where she sells pickle fish (Khmer cheese called Prohok) and fish sauce. Since her business is doing well, she wants to expand it so she would liK. to ask for a loan to buy more pickle fish for her current business activity. Beside from this business, she is also farmer who owns a plot of land to grow different kinds vegetable. Mrs. Dy K. is a widow with four children; two of whom are banana sellers, and the others are students in the local school.
