Srey's Group
In this Group: Srey, Khiev, Khiev, Chong
Mrs. Srey S., age 35 and a married woman, is the group leader, having been selected by the four members, located in Ta Kdol village in Kandal province. Each member of this group will use their portion of the loan to support their different purposes.

S. earns her living through selling her Khmer cake in the local market. Her husband, Mr. Prum Sopheak, 32 years old, works as Khmer taxi trailer driver in the local village. With both their occupations, they are able to earn some income to support their family. Now her husband's trailer is old, and she wants to exchange it for a new one, so she decided to ask for a loan to buy a new trailer for her husband's transportation business. This couple has two children: one is attending the local school while the younger one is just 7 months old.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
