Lima, Peru / Food Stall

A loan of $375 helped to buy ingredients for meal preparations.

Luisa's story

Luisa, 67, is a responsible, hard working mother. She lives in her own house with her husband and three of her seven children. Every afternoon she prepares traditional, popular food items that people enjoy a lot like chicken soup, patascas (a thick stew made by boiling a whole pig, sheep or beef head) and anticuchos (skewered, grilled beef heart) to sell among mechanics that work next door. Her husband helps her with the business. He tends to the customers and they have worked together this way for 27 years and have amassed profits this way.

In the future she wants to install fencing around her house’s entrance so that they can work with more securily.

This is her 19th loan with MFP and she assures us that the loan will be very beneficial to continue with her business. She will use the requested funds to buy ingredients to continue working at the business she knows best: cooking.
