Friendship Group's story

Kumba S., who is holding the sign, is the leader of this group of five borrowers called Friendship. She is 36 years old, single, and has four children whose ages are between 6 and 18 years. She was able to attend school only through 12th grade due to financial difficulty. She also cares for two siblings.

For 15 years, she has been selling drinks (liquor) and water in Redlight Market on the outskirts of Monrovia, Liberia. She plans to use her 8,000 LRD portion of this 40,000 LRD group loan to buy more crates of drinks and sacks of water.

She describes herself as a friendly, very hard-working woman whose goals are to improve her business and educate her children.
