A loan of $400 helped to import winter boots.

Munhtur's story

Munhtur D., a 38-year-old widow, lives with her four children, who range in age from 10 and 19, in a ger, a traditional Mongolian nomadic tent home, in Baganuur, a district of Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia's capital city. Munhtur's husband passed away a year ago and she works hard to raise her children alone. Her oldest daughter attends university, while the other three children are students as well.

Munhtur sells adult and children's clothing in her community, a business she started recently after having operated a meat sales business in a rented stall for three years. Hoping to ensure the stable operation operation of her new business, she is requesting a 500,000 MNT loan to import winter boots from Erlian, China's border city.

A modest and hardworking person, Munhtur says, " My only wish is to provide a good educational background for all my children. "
