A loan of $275 helped buying handbags.

Viviane's story

A. Viviane was born around 1980 in Cotonou, the economic capital of Benin.  She is married to TOVIHO Jean, a scrap metal merchant. Viviane is a mother of three children, who are all in school.  She is illiterate, but along with her husband, she ensures that all family expenses are covered. The family lives in Agbodjèdo, a district of Cotonou.

Viviane has a business selling handbags at Dantokpa, the international market of Benin.  She gets her supplies of merchandise at Dantokpa and at the market in Lomé, the capital of Togo.  To improve her business and  increase her inventory of handbags, Viviane is requesting a loan from ALIDé for the fifth time.  The former loans she received from ALIDé have indeed been repaid. Her personal ambition is to have her own store but sometimes runs into difficulties in operating her business.
