Nuevo Amanecer Group's story

The “Nuevo Amanecer” (New Dawn) Communal Bank is an excellent group that was formed on July 6th, 2010. The group is comprised of 18 women from the city of Ita.

It is a very active group, and all of the members demonstrate companionship and solidarity. They attend the weekly meetings, and they carry out activities to raise money for the common good of the group. The majority of the group members are continuing in the same businesses they have had since the first loan. That way they are demonstrating solidarity and companionship.

Pablina is one of the members. She sells bread and honey. She does this two or three times a week, depending on the orders she gets from her customers. She buys the honey that she sells in various areas of the country. The bread is completely home-made. She makes it herself in an oven that she has in her house. Her customers are very satisfied with her products. She is requesting the loan to buy flour, cheese, fat for bread, and other ingredients.

In this group: Pablina, Luciana, Mariza, Celia, Nancy, Elena, Herminia, Alma, Antonia, Nicasia, Mónica, Ramona, Evangelina, Claudia, Jessica, Reina, Perla*, María*
