Kitumbo Group's story

Rehema Y. is in her late twenties. She is married and has two children. Since 2005, she has run a small restaurant. She works from 6 a.m. to 4 p.m. daily and is able to earn a monthly profit of about $33.

This will be Rehema's third loan from Tujijenge Tanzania. She used her last loan to repaint her place of business, and she has paid back her previous loans successfully. She intends to use the new loan to purchase more food for her restaurant.

Rehema will share this loan with her loan group called Kitumbo, which totals seventeen members. The members of the group hold each other accountable for paying back the loans.
