Him A. S. is a single mother of three children, two of whom are married and live away from home while the other is employed as a garment worker overseas. Her husband died of senility many years ago.
Him A. S. buys fish in bulk from a place that is full of fishermen. She then hurries to bring the fish to the busy market, where she sells them retail. Him A. S. is a hardworking woman who never wastes time while engaging in her business activities. As a result of increasing customer demand, she is applying for a loan to purchase more fish.
Hattha Kaksekar Limited is one of the largest and most successful microfinance institutions (MFIs) in Cambodia. The organization provides microfinance services to the poor, particularly women, in urban and rural areas. Kiva lenders’ funds will be used to expand the outreach of HKL’s financial services to a greater number of clients in rural areas of Cambodia.
