A loan of $550 helped purchase of animals and nutritionally-balanced feed to expand her business of raising and selling poultry.

Agustina's story

Agustina is a 39 year-old mother who lives with her husband and children in the village of Quemazón in the district of Mórrope, a rural area which is in Lambayeque province, one hour from the city of Chiclayo.

Agustina has been raising and selling poultry such as ducks, turkeys, hens and doves for more than five years. She raises the animals in pens on her property. When the animals have reached a good level of growth she offers them for sale to her neighbors and the traders who visit the area where she lives. With the profits she makes from this activity, she helps her husband with the family's finances.

Agustina would like to expand her business with the purchase of more animals and nutrionally-balanced feed with which she hopes to increase her sales and make more profit. For this reason she has requested her first loan from Edpyme Alternativa for 1,500 nuevos soles.

With this money, Agustina plans to continue growing as a businesswoman and continue helping her family with the household finances. In her area she is a respected woman and her neighbors and acquaintances think very highly of her.
