A loan of $1,000 helped to purchase blouses.

Catalina De Lourdes's story

Catalina is 58 years old. She sells goods and costume jewelry from a stall. She lives with her husband and three children in Orquídeas de Guayaquil (an urban area which is called 'Las Orquídeas' – 'Orchids' because when it was discovered there were many orchids there).

She started her business several years ago selling costume jewelry until she could manage to get a street stall in the town of Guayaquil to sell her goods and jewelry. She works from 8.30am to 6.30pm every day selling to people who pass by her stall in the street. She sells magazines, jewelry, newspapers, sweets, blouses, etc.

With her loan she would like to purchase blouses to diversify the goods which she sells a little. In the future, she would like to continue working in order to continue helping her children.
