Guillermina Patricia
View original language description ↓
Guillermina Patricia currently runs a small stall inside the central market in León where she sells popular household products and foods that are staples in Nicaragua such as rice, oil, beans, etc. She acquires these products through distributors who sell wholesale.

She is married and with her husband she tends to this business in which she has worked for more than 13 years. When she was left unemployed, she looked for an alternative way to earn her income, and began selling clothing and beauty items such as rings, earrings and hair accessories in the street. She started her business with 33 USD.

Guillermina has been working for two years with the loans extended by CEPRODEL. The 8 loans she has received have helped her stock her business, rent a stall in the market and add variety to her inventory in order to offer her clients a little bit of everything. Her goal is to buy her stall in the market in order to free herself from the expense of rent and improve the structure of the stall.

Founded in 1991 and based in Managua, Nicaragua, CEPRODEL specializes in the development and funding of housing cooperatives for traditionally marginalized communities, the provision of microfinance services to small businesses, and the promotion of innovative renewable energy projects. In addition, unlike many microfinance institutions in the area that have chosen to avoid the rural areas of the country due to the increased financial risk, CEPRODEL provides financial services to numerous clients in the agriculture and livestock industry. Supporting a borrower through CEPRODEL means contributing to the promotion and sustainability of this important work in Nicaragua.
