A loan of $375 helped buying supplies.

Pilar's story

PILAR D. O. is an active member of the "Mujeres Valientes" ["Brave Women"] communal bank. She lives in the Calleria district in the department of Ucayali. She is a widow and 60 years old. She has 3 children; two are already independent, and one is in her care and still dependent on her.

With the loan granted to her 8 years ago by the Manuela Ramos organization, she invested in her business, which is a restaurant-bar. With the goal of improving her service to her customers, she has decided to offer more varied dishes on her menu. With her current loan through Manuela Ramos, for 1000 Peruvian new soles, she will buy supplies and equipment which she needs to provide proper service to her loyal customers.

Pilar feels good because she has been able to help her children get ahead, and she has made progress with her business in spite of being a woman alone, thanks to the loans she has obtained through Manuela Ramos.
