Yanet's story

Yanet is 39 years old and has a live-in partner and two children. She currently lives in the community of Compone, within the district and province of Anta and the department of Cusco. The community of Compone is located 45 minutes from the city of Cusco where the majority of the residents work in agriculture and cattle farming.

Yanet alternates her household activities with her business activities. Her main business is raising young animals like guinea pigs, chickens, pigs, etc. She also works buying and selling corn.

Yanet has participated for a long time in the San Isidro de Compone communal bank, part of the Unidad de Microfinanzas Arariwa from the city of Cusco, Peru. With the next loan that she hopes to receive of 800 Peruvian Nuevos Soles (PEN), Yanet will invest in the business and will buy guinea pigs and agricultural products.
