B. Nouratou was born on March 24, 1975 in Cotonou, the economic capital of Benin. She is married to ADEKAMBI Sundé, a merchant. The couple have three children, who are all in school and in their care. Nouratou has been living for eighteen years in the Agbodjèdo district in Cotonou with her family. The couple jointly provide for their family.

Early on, Nouratou dropped out of school and then learned how to style hair. Concurrent to this business that she operates, she sells hair extensions and various cosmetic products in her shop located in Midombo. She gets her supplies at Dantokpa, the international market of Benin.

She is a previous client of ALIDé having already had five loans, which have all been repaid. Facing the burgeoning demand from her customer base, Nouratou is requesting another loan with the aim of increasing her stock of goods and her sales.

B. Nouratou est née le 24 Mars 1975 à Cotonou, capitale économique du Bénin. Nouratou est mariée à ADEKAMBI Sundé, un commerçant. Le couple a trois enfants, tous scolarisés et à leur charge. Nouratou vit depuis dix huit ans au quartier Agbodjèdo à Cotonou, avec sa famille. Le couple subvient ensemble aux besoins de la famille. Nouratou a très tôt abandonné l’école, puis a appris la coiffure. Parallèlement à cette activité qu’elle mène, Nouratou vend également des mèches et divers produits cosmétiques dans sa boutique size à Midombo. Nouratou achète ses produits à Dantokpa, marché international du Bénin. C’est une ancienne cliente de ALIDé ayant déjà bénéficié de cinq crédits qui ont tous été bien remboursés. Face à la demande de plus en plus nombreuse de sa clientèle, Nouratou sollicite un autre crédit en vue d’augmenter son stock de produits et d’accroître son chiffre d’affaire.

Alidé is a Beninese NGO that works to reduce poverty by offering sustainable access to productive loans like this one in addition to savings, training sessions, and social work to low-income families.

Supporters of this loan should be aware that there is some risk of being repaid late. Because the Beninois Ministry of Finance has imposed restrictions on the amount of money Alidé can send to Kiva, the organization can only send monthly repayments in installments smaller than $13,000. This means that some Kiva lenders may receive their repayments late.
