Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

A loan of $925 helped to seal the walls and install flooring in her house.

Nellys Maribel's story

Nelly, 25, lives with her mother who babysits her 7-year-old daughter who’s in elementary school. She is a single mother but does get some economic help from her daughter’s father. She has been employed by the Ministry of Education at Rubén Darío School for the last 6 years where she earns a monthly salary to cover basic expenses.

She is asking for Kiva help to buy building materials and supplies because she plans to seal her walls and install flooring in her house. This client has shown herself to be a responsible young lady when it comes to repayments and she is well liked by her neighbors and friends.

Her greatest dream is that her family stays together always, to enjoy good health and work stability so that little by little she can improve her living conditions since they are quite a humble family.
