A loan of $550 helped to buy different products to expand her grocery store business.

Elvia Teofila's story

Elvia is a member of the community bank “Santiago Patrón”, located in the Santiago de Pupuja district, in the Azángaro province, Puno department. She is 42 years old, married and she has 4 children. She has completed her studies up until the 5th year of secondary school.

Elvia has worked with the Manuela Ramos movement for 5 years. She says that her first loan was for S/. 300.00 nuevos soles. This money was used to increase the capital of her grocery store business.

She is now requesting a loan for S/. 1500.00 nuevos soles. This money will be used to purchase different products to expand her grocery store.

Her dream is to have a larger grocery store and to sell meals.

The things she likes most about her community bank are the meetings, the punctuality, the responsibility and the training.
