Lucia's story

Lucia is 55 years old. She lives with her husband and 2 children in a house they own. For the last 6 years she has been selling juices in a kiosk located in a market close to her house; when she started out, she didn’t have a kiosk and had to walk around selling. Now her business allows her to work with tranquility and distribute her time according to the tasks she has at home. Sometimes her daughter helps tend the kiosk and makes the juice to the client’s liking. She doesn’t only sell juice, she also sells hot herbal infusions that have medicinal qualities and are in high demand. Lucia’s business is profitable and because of this, she would like to replace the equipment she uses to make juice. This is her 14th loan with MFP; she is very happy to have the financial support she needs, as she knows it will help her to grow her business. She is also very happy to be part of the communal bank because all of the members are responsible and supportive. With the loan she’s requesting, she’ll invest in more product like medicinal herbs and fruit, and buy new glasses and utensils.
