A loan of $1,000 helped purchase equipment, tubing, and metal plates.

Klever Alfonso's story

Klever is 30 years old and lives in Guasmo de Guayaquil, an urban area where most of the residents are informal merchants. He manages a metal shop where he manufactures and repairs doors, windows, and other items.

Since almost all of his family is involved in this type of business, Klever decided to follow in his family’s footsteps and continue in the same line of work. As a young boy, he learned how to make doors, windows, and other items made of metal. He set up a metal shop in the front part of his house where he works from 7am until 6:30pm. He sells the metal doors for $140.00 and windows and security bars according to size.

In order to continue with his business, Klever wants to use this loan to buy equipment, tubing, and metal plates. In the future, he hopes to make improvements to his house and establish his metal shop in a formal location.
