Nat's story

Mrs. Nat Y., 53, is a widow with two sons and two daughters. Two of them are married, while the other two are in school. The family lives in a small village along National Road Number Five, approximately 20 kilometers from Phnom Penh City.

Nat sells onsorm, a type of Cambodian cake that has rice and coconut with soybean and pork in the middle. As well, she also grows rice on her farmland in the village, assisted by her children. Nat is requesting her first loan of $400 to purchase seed, fertilizer and pesticide to maintain her rice farm and pay for ploughing fees.
