A loan of $675 helped to buy clothing.

Maribel Rocío's story

Señora Maribel R. is a member of the "Fe y Alegría" ("Faith and Happiness") communal bank. She lives in the Cebollar neighbourhood in the city of Cuenca. This city is well known for the beauty of its streets and historic centre, as well as its friendly, polite and traditional people. It also boasts a great variety in its cuisine.

Our member is 33 years old. She is married and has 5 children, aged 12, 10, 8 and 3, with he youngest being twins. Her eldest daughter is studying in high school, her second and third daughters study at a city primary school. Her husband is a laboratory technician analysing soils, and with his job and their combined determination, they have succeeded in buying their own house.

Doña Maribel is a businesswoman, who sells clothing from home. She works every day, without fixed hours. She has been doing this for 10 years.

This is the second loan she has had from the foundation, and she is going to invest the money in buying more clothing to sell. Her goal is to pay off the mortgage.
